The module examines the components of a health system. It imparts the knowledge and skills required to evaluate health systems and public health programme.
Module Aim
This Module aims at providing students with knowledge of issues and techniques of ensuring that health policies apply in the health sector.
Module Learning Outcomes
After completing the Module students should be able to:
1. Apply knowledge of health policy in order to evaluate specific choices from a broader political, economic and social environment
2. Distinguish the main categories of health systems in the developed world
3. Analyse the social relations of power and authority and how they impact reforms in the health system
4. Discuss key features of health systems, both from the perspective of the public and private institutions
5. Analyse the complexity and key components of health systems
6. Describe the steps in the field of health and recognize national-international assessment tools
7. Develop an effective evaluation model for health services
