Module Description
This module deals with health policy and planning within health care. This programme aims to develop critical analysis of issues within health policy and planning that will enable students to devise appropriate health policy responses. This module also exposes students to the health care system and the importance of human resources' management (HRM) in improving overall patient health outcomes and delivery of health care services.
Module Aim
This module aims at providing students with knowledge of health policy and planning in Health Care.
Module Learning Outcomes
After completing the module students should be able to:
1. Develop a critical understanding of core concepts and frameworks relevant to health policy within the Health care
2. Analyse key contemporary challenges to health that could affect the policy and planning
3. Analyse the administration of health services and human resource management in order to be able to evaluate specific choices from a broader political, economic and social environment
4. Analyse the important of HR within health organisations
5. Identify critical changes facing the health sector and to seek ways of dealing with resistance to these changes
6. Develop knowledge and skills in planning and policy making taking into account ethical issues
