Module Description

The module provides students with an understanding of the rights, obligations and liabilities concerning laws and regulations which govern the hospitality and travel industry. Students will be assisted to acquire the knowledge needed to facilitate compliance with regards to regulations concerning hotels, restaurants and travel operations.

Module Aim

The module will equip students with the necessary legal knowledge for application in the management of hotels, restaurants, tourism and travel.

Module Learning Outcomes

After completing the module students should be able to:

  1. Identify the legislation of relevant to the statutory compliance of organizations
  2. Undertake the proper licensing procedures for tourism and hospitality operations
  3. Develop business contracts;
  4. Handle liability and rights issues effectively
  5. Analyze employment, customer liability, health and safety registration
