Module Description
During this module the students will be able to gain an in-depth knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles and concepts necessary for main accounting and financial procedures.
Module Aim
This module aims at equipping students with concepts that determine how businesses are organized, functioning and governed, knowledge of managerial aspects in an organization, importance of financing and regulatory issues and helping students understand different sources of financing available for individuals and businesses.
Module Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the module students should be able to:
1. Apply scientific accounting concepts and theories to practical workplace situations.
2. Evaluate the regulatory framework of financial reporting;
3. Apply relevant regulations to financial reporting;
4. Generate financial statements for different entities that comply with the relevant accounting standards, companies’ legislation and other related regulations.
5. Generate group financial statements that may include an associated company or joint venture.
6. Analyze financial statement;
7. Interpret financial statements and related information in reports to a range of stakeholders.
