Course Description:

During this course, students will be introduced into the key concepts and principles in the management and governance of public organisations. Students will explore current developments in applied policy analysis and public management and will examine how policy problems and programmes are managed in the public sector.

Course Objectives

The main objectives of the course are:

  1. To provide an understanding of what the government does or should be doing.
  2. To enable students to recognize the role of the public sector play and how it has changed in recent times.
  3. To enable students to identify the way the public sector managers execute their role.
