Module Description
In this module students will explore the importance of using images in Web Design. The module exposes students to media, graphic tools, screen design, Web vs other media, Web limitations and interface production using graphics tools.

Module Aim
This course aims at equipping students with technical skills in manipulating and controlling images for the Web, graphic design and optimization.

Module Learning Outcomes
After completing the course students should be able to:
1. Demonstrate students’ ability and competence to manipulate and control media for use on the web
2. Apply graphic design principles to web projects
3. Create and optimize visual assets for online use with image-editing software
4. Apply contemporary typographic principles to web content
5. Appraise the aesthetic and functional aspects of web media
6. Analyse the composition and presentation techniques for visual information on the web
7. Analyse colour theory and be able to implement appropriate colour schemes for visually engaging and accessible web content.
