Module Description
The module will expose students to the thematic area of health systems, and their basic functions; what is meant by a health system. Also it examines the basic components of a health system: governance, financing, creating resources and provision.
 

Module Aim
This module aims at providing students with knowledge of issues and techniques of ensuring that health policies apply in the health sector.

Module Learning Outcomes
After completing the module students should be able to:
1. Discuss health policies
2. Distinguish the main categories of health systems in the developed world
3. Identify common trends and common problems that health systems in developed countries face
4. Analyze the social relations of power and authority and how impact in advancing reforms in the health system
5. Assess the complexity and the key components of the health system
6. Analyse key features of health systems, both from the perspective of the public and the free market
7. Analyse the importance of the evaluation of health services
8. Describe the steps in the field of health and recognize national-international assessment tools
9. Develop an effective evaluation model to health services
10. Design and implement specific assessment tools of health services
