Module Description

This module encourages students to go beyond the study of theory and become active participants in the debate that is at the leading edge of managerial and leadership thinking and practice. This module will help students to evaluate and apply different key leadership and management theories and concepts by also encouraging students to develop a creative and innovative thinking in the application of relevant management models. Throughout this module, students will develop leadership and management skills that will help them to prepare their career.
 

Module Aim
This module aims at equipping students with skills of developing an in-depth critical understanding of the role and contribution of leadership and management.
 

Module Learning Outcomes
After completing the module students should be able to:
1. Demonstrate critical insight into effective leadership, management
2. Analyse a variety of leadership styles and strategies that are applied and utilized for health improvement
3. Analyse the role and contribution of leadership and management in conceptualizing, creating and inspiring innovation and practice in multi-disciplinary public health
4. Plan a change event for leadership including stakeholders, risk analysis and leadership decision-making tools and frameworks
5. Develop a critical and integrated understanding of Leadership and Management within organisations
6. Apply appropriate methodology for leading change in a multi-disciplinary team context with
7. Identify an area for change and apply decision-making processes and criteria to prioritize a change and debate
8. Conduct research by applying appropriate research skills, critical thinking and effective organizational improvement techniques
