Module Description
This module exposes students to the main concepts and areas of advance accounting in order to be able to deal with various accounting processes with the aim, scope, objectives and success criteria for a successful career in key functional positions within the accounting department.
Module Aim
The Module Aim at providing students with an in-depth understanding of accounting for inventory, cash, receivables, fixed assets and current liabilities for a sole proprietorship.
Module Learning Outcomes
After completion of the module students should be able to:
1. Explain the accounting issue that arises when identical units of merchandise are acquired at different unit costs during the period
2. Analyse receivables
3. Account for uncollectable receivables
4. Discuss the accounting for fixed and intangible assets
5. Describe the accounting for current liabilities and payroll
6. Apply accounting for partnerships
7. Prepare a Statement of Cash Flows
